Nowadays, the number of Internet domains has become extremely high and the number is still rising. What's very important for a web master is to have his details associated with his domain name, to be easier to find by a customer, for example, or in case a website visitor needs support in some matter. A server that contains website information is called a Whois server. In order to verify and view the information contained by these servers, the user needs a specialized software. Such a program is Active Whois. It's an application that can display information regarding any website.

The program is very simple to install and supports most versions of Microsoft Windows, from XP to Windows 7. It doesn't require more than average system resources to work.

The interface of Active Whois is simple enough to be used by any type of users, even beginners. The user just needs to enter the link of the website he wants to verify and that's it. At this point, the program will display complete information about the chosen website, like information about the domain holder, DNS servers, information about the site's hosting service and so on. Thus, a web master can check if the information regarding his own domain is correct and well displayed.

The program doesn't limit to displaying Whois information, as it can also display in real time all the active connections of the current computer. Thus, the user can spot any illegal connections, made by hackers for example, and he can take the necessary countermeasures. All the data displayed by Active Whois can be saved as a text file, to be reanalyzed later, or they can be printed directly.

Pros

It can display complete information regarding any website. Besides that, it can save all the information as a text file or it can print it directly.

Cons

It requires some knowledge about web servers and domains for complete understanding all its features, so beginners may have trouble using the program at first. Active Whois is an interesting program that can display complete information about any website.
